Standing in for Colonel as he goes on an intercity drive early in the morning.

This is a puzzle very much in the mould of Xchequer with his imaginative wordplay and misdirection. Liked several clues, but to name a few : EUPHORIA, HAUGHTY, DEGREE,  REALTY, BAD HAIR DAYS, NOT LONG AGO and PRUDES.

  3. Nice puzzle. In addition to the clues mentioned in the preamble liked Act The Giddy Goat(two animals in the clue and a third in the answer!), compound, etc. Thanks xChequer and Bhavan for the rare, superb blog.

  5. Did this late yesterday . Excellent wordplay. Bad Hair day is used rarely as Bad hair day(s) in plural. Limerick of CGB is a rhymerick !

    Exchequer has sent us all to heights of delight !!!
