    1. ordinary as casual/poor is the anind.

    2. Actually meant as a kind of &lit, with 'weird' acting as anag ind in cryptic reading, selecting odd letters of NON and O for ordinary. Bit strange having to ignore the O and add it back, but couldn't find another way to make it work

    3. Thanks xChequer for the clarification.
Can you also clarify 22A please?

    4. @KPS: There's no 22A, and 22D was solved and annotated. You had something else in mind?

    5. Re 20A, 'Literally ….,teacher' is def. SENSE(meaning) + I (one) wordplay. Think the main blog has it broken down

    6. Thanks for clarification; we were debating whether it is a DD

      Delete
    7. Well strictly speaking a DD should have 2 different definitions, not same definition repeated twice. The phrase before teacher is like a qualification saying 'what kind of teacher'

    1. Probably, it needed further clarification:
SENSEI = TEACHER in Martial arts; where Sen=PREVIOUS; Sei= BIRTH
      [in Japanese]

      Delete
    2. Internet shows SENSEI in Chinese means 'one born before'.
      May be 'elder'. Crossings helped.

    3. Thanks KRK. Struggling so far to get this anno.

    4. ONE BORN BEFORE is the honorific of a martial arts teacher. not DD imu

    5. Oh! Thanks. I thought two meanings of same word is Double Definition.
SENSEI Col could clarify the classification.

    6. I thought the same way as MKR.
One born before (honorific) as one definition and
teacher meaning one coming after as the second definition.
