ReplyDeleteGod one Sreeram, esp. separating pick & staff.
ReplyDeleteThank you! One of those rare days
DeleteEn Passant is my pick of the day- a rare chess move.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Mr. Padmanabhan.... Just could not guess as to what the solution is!!!
DeleteOpen Col.'s link on en Passant (in passing) and read about it. Informative.
DeleteThanks for this link dear Mr. Padmanabhan...
DeleteI put 'Hit show' in stead of ice show and got stuck. I took Hits for kills.
ReplyDeleteA smile on my face on seeing St.Thomas Mount.
ReplyDelete2 good long verticals.
A little tough for me. Could complete only at 9: 15. Loved come September and ice show. Electrode was nicely clued, though easy to parse. The simple anagram St. Thomas mount was the last one to fall in place, as I never expected St. In the first two places. I was fumbling with At!! Foolish of me! A nice fare, a brain teaser to me. Thank you Arden.
ReplyDeleteYes,the St.made it a little difficult for me also.
ReplyDeleteTook almost an hour and half to solve but for 18A and 15D. In fact, initially, I erred in solving 24A since I reckoned the answer to be shortages until I realised my mistake when I solved 9D.
ReplyDeleteAll said and done, enjoyed this grid alongside sipping cups of steaming coffee and listening to assorted numbers by the one-n-only Jim Reeves.....
What a combination!
ReplyDeleteNice CW to solve, steaming coffee & Jim Reeves music. I am glad you had a good time.
Thank you Arden. For me Come September took the cake.An enjoyable solve.
ReplyDeletePlease add your name in the message at least if you cannot change the 'unknown'heading.
DeleteThank u arden. Nice CW. For me too st.thomas mount was last to fall considering i live in chennai. š
ReplyDeleteThis is Bruno... nice grid, but some annos eluded me: 1A where is September clued? 3D: was curious about the "about" within the anagram fodder 6D: I couldnt figure out the telescopic indicator. Thanks for the help Arden.
