  4. Thanks, Bruno, for an enjoyable puzzle. I had a query about 9A: clean (verb) should be LAUNDER. The answer: LAUNDRY doesn't mean clean, either as verb or adjective.

      Clean has the same meaning (action pf cleaning) as noun.
