No paper due to Vinayaka Chathurthi.
Repeating CW No 1 from Doppelganger (without any changes so there will be goofups in the cluing) as I am out of stock of specials. KKR has sent me one which will be used next Sunday.

Superb Col. Old is always enjoyable. Thank you.
Aw....its not 6 pm yet.
DeleteYes.Paddy you have jumped the gun. I thought I would go back home, solve and post my 3.
DeletePaddy still functioning on US Time?
Delete:-)
DeleteSorry. Apologies.
DeleteSince there were no comments at all, I thought everybody has forgotten about it. I did not want it to remain unsolved.
I will be more careful in future and stick to rules.
Jet lag does not last a month!!
DeletePlease don't apologise, Paddy.It happens.
DeleteMy times of solving crosswords are weird nowadays. On good days at office, I use breaks ( Lunch, tea, snacks) to solve. Otherwise, it is in the evening. Today, during breaks, I solved 2 puzzles( from the 1 Across Gridfest, keeping this puzzle for solving in the evening. With 1 and a half hour time difference, I have a long evening)
I suggest that the rule may be reworded: Each person may enter a maximum of three answers till 6 PM (Annotations compulsory)
ReplyDeletePlease submit all your answers in one comment.
.
Thanks. Will do so.
DeleteThank you everyone. I will have to keep repeating Doppelganger CWs till I get more contributions. I have one for next week from KKR as mentioned above.
ReplyDeleteFrom 27 Sep to 20 Oct I will be in Srinagar, in all probability there will be no blog during that period as there is no internet there as of now.
Col, if you can pre-schedule a blank post by 8am everyday, someone can copy paste the clues. And we can run Sunday format every day during that period.
DeleteCopy pasting of cues has to be done by someone who has admin rights
DeleteMoreover if there is no internet I will have to pre-schedule for a whole month before I get there
DeleteIf a page is open for the day, one can post in comments section.
DeleteSrinagar?
ReplyDeleteCalled up?
Visiting my son and my old army unit
DeleteOh, you will be on an adventure tour?
ReplyDeleteMore of a military duty? Or a long reunion?
DeleteReunion, no military duty
DeleteGreat!I have great memories of J&K. Visited every nook and corner. Have great friends. Partaken some wonderful dishes.. Sung Dongri and Kashmiri songs.. Been cooped up in a houseboat for 3 weeks.. Been to the borders... As close as to Muzzafarabad as possible on one hand and the closest on all sectors.. Seen bullet ridden walls, D. G. Set acoustic Chambers in our sites..
DeleteGood Luck, Col. Hopefully by then Internet would have been restored. (it is restored on Baramullah, Handwara and Shopian as per news)
Thanks Vasant, I hope things get back to normal by the time I get there. I too have spent 3 years in the valley from 87 to 90
DeleteHave a great time Col.
