ReplyDelete7D IN A MOMENT*
ReplyDelete10a GRAIN (anag of NIGRA after deleting aa "repeat of a" from NIaGaRA).
ReplyDeleteAttractively written clue. I like "without repeat of a" for letters deletion.
I think in 'repeat of a' the intention is to take one repeat of a and not the second repeat for which the instruction might have been 'repeats of a'.
'Polished' is a nice anag ind.
However, IMO, the clue lacks in overall sensible surface.
Thanks always CV Sir, for your inputs.
DeleteAnswer is right, Gemini. But anno is not pleasure.
ReplyDeleteMake happy=please

DeleteMB,
DeleteSince there is only a fine tuning involved, I think you can take 1AC
Leave 3DN to others
That's correct, Prasad. So the wait continues till 6:00 pm! Wish somebody would solve them before the deadline!!
DeleteKKR @ 17:42...
Delete1A : VOCAB {B+(ADVOCATE-DATE)}*
B=Second class, Time off i.e Advocate-date=VOCA. Anindi is 'activity'
{B+VOCA}* VOCAB(Vocabulary)
Getting B to the otherside by other means than anind would have been better.
DeleteSorry for not seeing the above points.
DeleteLet me clarify that there is no anagram intended/involved in this clue.
What I have wished was B [second class] on A [advocate-date gives voca]
3D BROAD HINT (CD)
ReplyDeleteI think it's BROAD HINT by definition.
DeleteMy intention is:
Deletenot cryptic=broad; clue=hint
A hint about "broad" always helps!
DeleteThanks KKR for the clarification. On the whole had an enjoyable solve for the day. Nice grid. Keep them coming.
DeleteThanks MB
DeleteThanks to you all for the interest shown in the grid.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vasi Sir for your timely help when the acrosslite version didn't work.
Thanks to the blog and Col, as always.
Thank you for the special KKR.

Yes col. The site has been down
DeleteI forgot to mention. And no one perhaps noticed. The grid is a pangram
