  2. The print edition is with an erratic grid-14x15!!!

    1. Strangely, epaper shows 15x15 grid but when I downloaded and printed I got 14x15 one!

    2. The last column has been left out. I just added a square in all ac. clues wherever needed and treated the rest in the last column as dark squares. Of course, thankfully, the grid symmetry helped. I was able to complete the CW.

    3. Simply unacceptable. Especially since The Hindu expects us to pay around double what we pay for the entire paper just for online access to the crossword.

    4. So true.We suffer for our silence, as so far, none has written even a protest letter. The Readers Editor Panneer selvam is pouring panneeer water on the and shedding crocodile-tears about participatory ideas ! Why are we a mute witness to the arrogance of the Editorial board ? My letters do not see the light of the day. We keep the crossword section alive !

Can our blog leaders please intervene and find a lasting solution ?

    5. Thanks to Mr Padmanabhan , I added the column in the print version and finished the crossword. Disappointing indeed coming from the Hindu. I don't know if they check. I have had occasions long back in the past where they published the grid and the solution or the new grid with old clues.

    6. Epaper: individual item view was OK, but full paper version had truncated grid. The link to jpg of grid turned out OK. So its the content template problem, probably created by barcode generator.

Anyways, I recreate the grid via macros, so had no problem.
