Another good one from GM.
ReplyDeleteHad a good laugh at bareback!
I was struggling with citybred. Did not know that 'citified' is a proper word.
Most difficult to identify "city died"
DeleteFied became died on mobile autofil
DeleteLet the autofill die!
DeleteYou can turn off auto suggestion and auto fill in your mobile.
DeleteBox camera! So common once. Camera itself is almost no more.
ReplyDelete21D- Did you mean 'UND' only?
ReplyDeleteOf course GM meant it to be UN.
ReplyDeleteCol, I admit 21d is not quite properly written. Escaped despite checks and rechecks.
ReplyDeleteA mixed bag this time;some of them tough. But enjoyable all the same. How about 4D after dinner!
ReplyDeleteIt is an after dinner alcoholic drink. I t helped that I have heard about it.
DeleteSorry. I thought it was a question mark (and not !)
DeleteConsumption of alcohol is injurious to health. Thanks
DeleteThis was a bit of a challenge! Lionise and Citified took a long long time. Ditto to Soldiery and Tasseled. Cheated on Vestal and Creme de Menthe( DNK(did not know) both Vesta and vestal hence difficult to get). Gridman can sometimes be challenging!
ReplyDeleteI tried soldiery as a last resort ( it was not lost)
ReplyDeleteGot all except 16D. I always enjoy Gridman's puzzles: clear and concise.
ReplyDelete22d the match is named after the goddess VESTA, the priestess after VESTA (VESTAL "of vesta"). doesnt it count as same root.
ReplyDeleteYes, perhaps.
DeleteIn 14ac - nce ahead of decade is how the clue reads. I got the answer, but is the clue misleading? Kindly explain
ReplyDeleteYour point is 'ahead of a long period' indicates that 'nce' should come first. You may be right at that.
ReplyDeleteCol., what does that 2 way arrow indicate?
There are two ways, since its gridman:
DeleteAhead means further forward in the direction of movement. Is moved to front in the direction of reading.
Congrats to Vinayak Ekbote, the school mentored by him, Mothers International New Delhi has won the CCCC-2019. Vijval Ekbote, his son, was one of the members of the winning team
