  4. The Sunday grid at https://crossword.thehindu.com/crossword/hindu-cryptic-sunday
seems to be different from the one solved here. Do they publish a different grid online and a different one in the newspaper?

  5. I have said here before that the Sunday crossword (Everyman) that is published in the magazine section and the one that is published online have a time gap. I think what you see online today will appear in print edition some weeks later. That one is some weeks later than what appears originally in The Observer (of the UK) .

    1. Srinivas is talking about the new series called 'The Hindu Cryptic on Sunday'.
Yes that is different from the one solved here. The one solved here is the Everyman which appears in the Magazine on Sundays. The Hindu Cryptic on Sunday is a new feature and is available only in the online edition of The Hindu on Sundays and does not appear in the print edition.

    2. Colonel, though the annos are given in the hint.I still think this should be blogged. The least the setter deserves.
And also a chance for the commenters to participate.

    3. Vasant, I discussed this with CV and we felt that since the annotations are given there, though they are calling it a hint, there is no point in blogging it here.

  6. Thanks for the clarification
