Indefinite delay

There may be an indefinite delay today, as the power has gone off and my laptop battery is in the red. No idea when power will be back.

  1. Good morning everyone:

As the Colonel has said, the blog-post might be delayed today. But many of our friends will have solved the puzzle in toto or in part, much before 8-30 am.

Let's make a pact. Resist all temptations and desist from revealing the answers before the routine post appears, or up to a reasonable, extended deadline.

Thus the rest of the solvers would not be deprived of the challenge and fun involved in the solving. (@ Kishore, don't tell me you have posted the answers on a past page already !)

Perhaps some wild hints can be thrown, which might result in a more energetic interaction.

By chance - the power supply in Coimbatore willing - if the Col's post does show up at 8-30 am, this suggestion can be carried forward to a future date when a similar situation pops up.

  2. @ Richard: My prelim line was:
As the Colonel’s laptop is indisposed (mebbe the P(=weather/precipitation) hit it, we did have Graupel (hail) in Bangalore recently), here goes:

  7. @ Richard: Please tell me the time of the post which you think is too revealing and would like deleted. Shall do so.

  8. @ Kishore, I am not imposing my view. But if you have a re-look, perhaps 8-39 and 8-40 give it away. But you don't need to delete them.

  9. I too have had a LOW SEASON from power outage, but luckily it's back and the CABLE too is intact. My wife gave me my second or third cup of coffee (I don't keep count nor does she) and so sufficiently REHYDRATED and feeling, as usual, SELF-IMPORTANT, and never at a LOSS for words, whether the weather throws SLEET, SNOW, or whatever, and following PERSISTENT efforts, as I have a certain ENDEARMENT to this particular setter, for he is a man of SUBSTANCE, I, sitting in this UPHOLSTERed chair, having plenty of LEISURE, never raising an EYEBROW at any clue... ... ...

  15. @ Chaturvasi

That was a verbal Pearl Harbour. Will take quite some time to recover from the recoil.

  16. Quote from Col:
"Just for your info, as Chaturvasi has already mentioned, if ever there happens to be a delay in my post there will always be a small post mentioning the same so if need be comments or solutions can be discussed there."

Query to Col: Ek shak ya sawaal, Sir: In case of delay, should we restrict to comments or 'cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war' aka the "Pearl Harbour", say by 0845?. We shall expect and respect your views on the same.

The Col does not have access to the Net as of now. So do not expect an answer to your query for some time. Unless, of course, he takes recourse to a computer located elsewhere, say, at a cybercafe.
