  1. Thanks to everyone for holding your horses. Reason for delay I have given above.
    @Kishore,
    This is the first time this has happened since I started this blog, unfortunately I got in late last night and I didn't know the cut was from 6 to 9, else I would have put the laptop on charge last night.

  2. @ Col: Good to have you back. Please see my 943 post under Indefinite delay.

    Also, anno for 6a Irises (flowers) - er (king plucked out) = isis

  3. @ Col: Your anno for 6a is better, flower being singular.

  4. For 9d, I though of serape, but then credo is faultless

  6. Welcome home, Deepak. We had a field day here.

  7. For 23d, I too put in HAIL as it matches the crossing and is a type of p=precipitation, but the best anno (in absence of something better)I could think of is American name=Laith, leaves time = -t, anagrammed is Hail

  8. @Sumitra.
    To get into a fix or get into a scrape would mean the same

  9. I did think of Scrape but the anno was eluding me so I left it at that

  10. @Kishore,
    I saw all the posts under the delayed post header

  11. Actually Deepak the credit for the anno for scrape goes largely to Kishore

  12. 23 D - fall - school session

    ReplyDelete
  13. @RB,
    FALL will also fit as part of RAINFALL though and not school session, however HAIL or FALL can be decided only once we get the annotation

  14. what does P mean .......... not clear..

  15. FALL is the time when the leaves fall in America. So 23 D would be FALL I think

  16. @Pavitra P means Precipitation

  17. Deepak, your visitors' tally has just crossed 120,000. Another landmark. Congrats.

    I wouldn't know if you have noticed it. The Clustrmap countrywise breakup chart has remained static since April 11. Any glitch, as you may have known?

  18. Thanks Richard,
    No idea about the custrmap hold up.

  19. Why, statistics have been updated on April 25.

    The country totals on the panel below right and the map with red dots get updated at periodic intervals, I think.

    But the last two lines in black bold at left get updated every 24 hrs, if my observation is correct.

  20. American leaves Time for P (4) - HAIL Anno pending

    I think Suresh has nailed it ; It has got to be FALL

    time for leaves : autumn , which, in American terms is FALL ;

    As such, even "American leaves Time" would be a perfectly valid cryptic definition clue. The 'for P' is just an addendum to help with the theme, I feel!

  21. Fall should be correct with Suresh's anno. After all fall (as in rainfall) is also precipitation.
