  1. Hi
A much better CW today I think. Some disputable ones, but smaller in number, and hence I think I can finally rate one in the current series as ‘Good’. A good European mix (Greek, French, German, Spanish, England, Turkey) with some Chinese and African stuff added to it, compared to the turkeys we got in the last few days.
I think that this change may not be a part of the prospect held out by Abhay, given the time frame. However, we are yet to see the clue clarification part, which I feel can start early. Or was all that just a manifesto to go the way of all our political manifestos. I hope it is not a fata morgana.
My COD is HAMBURGERS, mainly for bringing a smile on my face remembering The Pink Panther

    Your anno seems fine.

  3. That remark was put in initially when I did not have the anno, forgot to delete it when the anno dawned on me.

  4. I finally voted satisfactory. Some more improvement and I shall vote good.

  5. Aha, Deepak, that is when the motive to trepan and strangle possibly evaporates.

  6. So Kishore: Did you rate it as Good(8:34) or Satisfactory(8:42)?!? :)

I echo your thoughts. Probably the best NJ set in this series. Lots of new words(especially, geographic) that needed google confirmation.

I rated today as Good. Got everything except 1D, and 2D. Funny thing here... I searched for old chinese cities, and got YINXU... old Chinese capital of Shanghai province. Assuming there was no way that we could have 2 Chinese cities with 1st and 3rd letter Y and N resp, I assumed it had to be this... and figured LINT must be wrong! :) 1D being lost on me.. didn't help! :)

Anyway... all in all, a good effort.

  7. by the way... I had 24D as NANA ... not DADA.

NANA is an old man, and is contained in ..."iN AN Art ...)

However, looks like Col's anno is better...

  8. Also... as a DAD myself, I take offence to being called an Old Man!!! haha!

  9. For SAYONARA...

    I figured it's
    SAY - declare
O - about (god knows how... maybe 'cos its "round"about?!?)
    AN - an
    RA - artist

  10. Could 2D be: Lost any + one? {YAN*}{AN}

  11. @ Kiran 13:00 - Hmm... not typical crosswording style, but knowing the current setter, it's quite possible. Good guess! :)

  12. Hari @ 9.43
Missing reversal indicator for "AN" with that anno.

  16. 24D DADA
Dada art was a movement that took place during the First World War, when artists in New York, Zurich and Munich questioned the very meaning of art by displaying crude or simple objects as fine art.

These details and more are available against the word DADA in the main post.
