  1. 15A Look up Taw and you will get 'to shoot a marble'. Just change the link and the ? will disappear.

  2. Hide out = Lie low, so hideout = lielow : )

    30 seconds = half a minute = MIN ?

Irrespective of how loudly he can cry, it won't become chancery. What kind of an anagram indicator is loudly ?

  3. Thanks Suresh & Bhavan,

NJ has used loud/loudly previously as an AInd

  4. Typical of NJ.

Nothing more to say. But some nice clues.

    Good day

  7. Could someone explain 5D? I understand BAR for "Block", but what does electrical current have to do with it?

  8. 'i' is a symbol for electric current. BARI is an Italian port

  9. Is this the quietest NJ day in recent times?

  10. I think it is a decent offering today from NJ.

Got more answers than my usual quota.

  11. 23 - It may be subjective in matter! (13) - COMPREHENSIVE [CD]
The link given by Col leads to COMPREHENSION. The connection is not clear.

When I penned it in, I thought the word as used by NJ refers to Comprehensive (policy) - an insurance policy that provides wide-ranging coverage to the insured person (subject) against unforeseen mishaps.

    I request Suresh to clarify.

  12. 'Comprehensive' in the context of the UK, refers to a comprehensive school - a state school that does not select its intake on the basis of academic achievement or aptitude.

  13. I am lost of COMPREHENSIVE. Venkatesh, the meaning given by you above figured in some earlier crossword. I am not able to trace it.

  14. Frankly, I did not like today's CW, but I'm not going to crib about the clues, just going to take a short break till a new cycle kicks in

  17. Venkatesh & Padmanabhan,

in the first pass I put in COMPREHENSION and added the link, later I changed it to COMPREHENSIVE and forgot to change the link.

  18. COMPREHENSION or COMPREHENSIVE, I am still unable to follow the clue of being subjective in matter

  19. From when did MK become the CM of Puducherry? It came as a surprise to see a video spot seeking votes on a TN scheme (on food materials supplied every month) shot in the streets adjoining Pondy's Sri Aurobindo Ashram. It plumbs to abject depth that the party did not consider even one locale in TN appropriate for the shoot. No one can take the perspicacious viewers for granted.

  20. From WordWeb :

    COMPREHENSIVE (n)
An intensive examination testing a student's proficiency in some special field of knowledge
"she took her comprehensives in English literature"

So may be it is a subjective vs objective matter/test
