ReplyDeleteI feel this must have been:
broadmindedness-brand=odmiedness*
but there is an extra s and the deletion/anind are not clear. Differently may be anind. May be it should have been brands instead of brand.
14 - Stigmatised? Brand this differently in broadmindedness (9) - DEMONISED ? Anno pending
ReplyDeleteDemonise (v) : To stigmatize as evil
(broadmindedness - brand)* = demonised + S
Not sure where or how the extra S needs to be removed
Or
ReplyDeletesince stigmatised=demonised
Demonised + brand = fodder
this differently=anind
leads to broadmindedness.
Still, an extra S.
reading quickly, I did not notice the extra S until you pointed it out. Happens to me often with anagrams.
ReplyDeleteA small typo in 1A- it should be {ridge}.
ReplyDeleteThanks Padmanabhan, I have corrected it
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the quip about flight insurance from Icarus!
ReplyDeleteFirst image that flashe in my mind for Pencil Moustache was Clark Gable but as we are in India I thought of all our South Indian filmstars who in the 60s and 70s mostly had them
ReplyDeleteYes Col. I agree with you-Clark Gable is the best example and I am sure many will remember.
