ReplyDeleteI first came across this word in Richard Gordon's medical humour books and later, I think, in James Herriot stories.
Arden has given us a nice run this time.
ReplyDeleteAgree. The one word anagrams today were quite nice.
Delete23 - A rupee less for a fanciful silver bag (6)
ReplyDeleteFanciful as AnagrInd would apply to silve[-r].
How do we get 'a' into the fodder with the present clueing?
R for rupee is deleted and an 'a' is inserted in its place
DeleteExcellent crossword. Good surfaces make even the nine anagrams very enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed solving.
ReplyDeleteExcellent cartoon on the Edit page today.

Thoroughly enjoying this run from Arden.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed today's CW immensely- more so since I achieved an unexpected 100%. Thank you Suresh & Bhavan for the encouragement to keep at it. We have a power shutdown from 8 to 10 AM here and it helped since my weak resolve ( not to look at Col.'s solution) was not exploited!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.Padmanabhan.
DeleteMe too, Padmanabhan.
DeleteFrom yesterday, yes sir, I should have spelt it 'sir' to mean head in Hindi. When I meant 'Cora' sir, it meant the interior and not the exterior of the head. :)
!!!??
DeleteI thought you meant me
DeleteHi Suresh, never had you in mind. Now, come to think of it, if the cap fits you, wear it. :)
DeleteI was just want to re-iterate Suresh's '08:37 PM'.
