However, Col's anno on ANON is also possible if about is taken as reversal indicator

    2. +1 - Ajeesh's Annos are in line with what I had intended.

    1. I think Hypatia didn't mean Col. So civilian clothing= Our pants or for her your pants :)

    2. Civilian: a person who is not a member of a particular profession or group, as viewed by a member of that group

So for a setter, the solver becomes you.

  4. 3d is the ennu part of def? Otherwise kilobyte is 8000 bits!

    1. I suppose Hypatia meant to write bytes which got auto-corrected to bits!!

    2. I did put in bits, rather than bytes which would have been the correct definition. It is more like 8,192 bits than 1000. The Enum is certainly not intended to part of the definition:) Sorry for the error.

    3. The ICE standard : kilo bytes is 8000 bits. Lot of confusion by windows or MS convention to equate kilo with 2^10.

  5. No.
'Close to' is By as indicated by Col. It is swallowed by (like to)*

    1. Prasad is referring to the definition of Kilobyte

    2. Kilobit also seems to be right as per wiki-
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilobit

    3. The anno is for kilobyte and not kilobit!

  6. 10A. Gondola. Is it not an anagram of GO, LA, N, DO?

    ReplyDelete
  7. It is not jumbled as in an anagram and there is no anind.
'held' is a containment indicator for holding DO(party) between GO N(avy) & LA (the French)

    1. Thanks Paddy. Almost - N(avy) Do, between GO and LA, is the intended Anno.
