    1. I didn't feel so. If you have to go, you have to invariably get up. Not necessarily when you are disappointed.
Informally, get-up-and-go speaks of energy, initiative.
Gridman might have something else in mind.

  3. Happy Vishu to everyone.
You are right KKR. I made a mistake. It IS Vikari in Tamil also.

  4. 8D was music to my ears (eyes?)
    Loved all twos of 17D.
Bishop's assistant needed looking up and was the last to fall.
    Unusually quite a few RA's?

Let's say two are engaged in striking a deal. Arguments go on. A doesn't ike what B offers. A is disappointed, unhappy. He would GET UP AND GO, without a proper leave taking.
Drive is in the sense of 'energy' as KKR points out. Get-up-and-go means energy, drive.
In surface it is verb, as drive away in a car
    As def it is noun

  7. Thank you CV. That means 'Drive' is the def.

  8. Nice and smooth. 9D beat me. 3 RAs. Liked TYPHOID, RAINFALL.

Question on 18A. Does not the cryptic reading lead to WP in Defintion ? Is

  9. I am unable to understand the question. But let me analyse a couple of clues and try to see if I get the drift.
Kee may emerge in this stretch - stretch is def - eke out - RA gets Kee
Drops Nair - drops is def - rainfall RA is Nair
18 Bowl in a terrible attack
terrible attack is def - interpret as deadly blow - Bowl is RA
It seems same logic applies everywhere.
Thus I it seems I don't understand the qn. What am I missing?

    1. I think the doubt is individually terrible:deadly & attack:blow lead to solution.

    2. My doubt was "Deadly blow" is in terrible attack would be how it would translate into. Should it not be Terrible attack is (found) in Deadly blow

    3. This clue is different from usual RA, I think. Don't know how my mind worked when I wrote the clue.

    4. Could it be that attack is the def. and deadly is anagram indicator?

  10. I wish Col & ye-all a very happy Vishnu . God bless with prosperity.
