August 2022 marks the 10th Anniversary of 7,8's return to outer space...
ReplyDeleteReturn to?
DeleteOh! Just caught up.
DeleteDidn't he go to the moon in the previous millennium?
DeleteNeil Alden Armstrong (August 5, 1930 – August 25, 2012)
DeleteIndeed,,,, Thank you dear Mr. Kishore Rao for this 'curtain-raiser' of today that I managed to solve before accessing this site which did make me feel younger by 43 years as I recalled how all of us were glued to the transistor radio at our Airmen's Mess in Nagpur to listen to the VOA news on this epoch-making 'This small step is a great leap for the mankind'. The AIR too had relayed portions of this broadcast by the VOA.
DeleteInterestingly, a couple of months later when this crew of Apollo Mission.visited India, the brother of one of my fellow airmen, Nalvade was his surname, literally masqueraded as a waiter and barged into the room of Armstrong at the Taj Hotel in Bombay for an autograph. Of course, he was nabbed and handed over to the cops. Fortunately, he was released a couple of hours later!!!
Nice tribute to the astronaut by Mr Kishore Rao. There is also a theme to it with Rocketry, Footprint, Apollo, Moon.
DeleteAside: Saw the historic spaceships and other exhibits at Kennedy Space center, Merritt Island, FL three years back. Wonderful experience!
Theme words: + Nixon (then President) and Eleven (Apollo 11)
DeleteDidn't notice the cryptic clue... return to outer space!
Delete28.d paddles....oars.
ReplyDeleteHe leaves from shores.

DeleteTwo points Doctor.
Delete1. It is 'ashore' (not shores)
2. And with 'he' leaving it would be 'asor'. Anagram it to become
