    2. My parsing
      17d TREASURES - loves
      Banks cashier - treasuries
      -- one = minus i
      {treasur (-i)es}
      ?

    3. Col, I thik your anno works.
      Banks : treasuries.
      Cashier/discharge del indicator for one.
      Loves as def.
      DD would be treasurer: cashier/treasurer as employee of bank and one who treasures (loves). But it doesn't fit crossings.

    4. Yes, cashier here is a deletion indicator. Perhaps 'who' in WP is misleading

    1. Is it as simple as homophone of Yes being S or am I missing something too?

      7D - SOUTHERN (~S)
      S: Abbrievation of Southern
      Definition: Direction

    1. Red for communist/revolutionary.
      "Che" Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary and a major figure of Cuban revolution (and a guerrilla leader, diplomat, writer, physician as well)

    2. No Ramesh ji. Revolutionary as title ref to Che. Red is specific cold war usage to ref Russian communist.
      It's stretching to use red->revolutionary ->Che.
      May be forced by 3 CHEs in the grid. (2 immediate ones)
