Repeating my message of last evening
ReplyDeleteIt is with deep regret that I announce the passing away of Cdr Ganapathi ( Guns). He was the seniormost follower of this blog. Pasted below is the message I received from his son Sriram.
Dear Sir,
This is Sriram the son of Cdr R Ganapathi.
With great sadness I wish to inform you that my father passed away this morning following a brief illness. He was 93.
He really enjoyed the online Hindu Sunday Xword corner and the bonhomie you all shared.
Our family thanks you and the other solvers and setters for bringing so much more joy and excitement in the life of 'Guns'
The warmest regards to you and your family Sir!
Sriram

Delete23d lame/game: with injured leg
ReplyDeleteYes that was the intended annotation
DeleteBED (ground) + LAM(-E)
Would injured lead to deletion?
DeleteGame has meaning "permanently injured or disabled." Which is lame. Finishing early to delete last letter.
DeleteEvil is the anagram indicator for the Reverse Anagram
ReplyDeleteReckless person is the definition
ReplyDeleteVery nice crossword Ramki. Well disguised anagrams were enjoyable. Among favourites legume, Gemini, addled, scornful, crimea. Thanks for a lovely puzzle.
ReplyDelete7d- had a good laugh.What a setter!
ReplyDeleteSetter and lamp post. I didn't get the connection. Yet could solve using crossing.
DeleteDog raising its leg and oeeing on a lampmpost is a common feature which is normally joked about.

ReplyDeleteTool outrage (4)
Valid clue?
Seems so. Instead of manual shift it's auto!
Delete4d when we use "Richard is one", it should refer to a class, right? Like a surname Or so! (I went to Sir)
ReplyDeleteViv isn't one.
Maybe could have been better!
Are you sure it's not the other twin!
ReplyDeleteOne suits the surface of a cricket stroke better. Viv is no doubt one of thr Richards.
ReplyDeleteOne certainly suits the surface of a cricket stroke better and of course Viv is one of yhe Richards.
ReplyDeleteIf not THE Richard.
ReplyDeleteAnother very nice offering from KrisKross. CRIMEA, VOTE, PRIME, DAME, LAMP POST were the picks.
ReplyDeleteHaHa. Good one .
