  1. Sorry to hear about the passing of Darren Redfern yesterday. He had set two crossword for this blog in Jun and Sep 2014 under the Pseudonym 'Elmith'. Our condolences to his family. May his soul Rest in Peace. Thanks to Ramki for reminding me about his setting CW's for the blog.

    Can we have either or both of his CW's as Sunday special in the coming weeks. 2014 is quite far off and in any case many of the present bloggers may not have done it.

  3. 5d usage ofbstewardess and air hostess are being slowly phases out in favor of gender neutral attendant or inflight cabin crew. Officially airlines do not use the term air hostess. (Especially after the licensing was introduced)

  5. Darren was a good setter who also used to participate actively in the Anax DIY cluing contests under the name of Elmith. Friends in FB knew that he was unwell and undergoing treatment for the last few months but were hoping that he would recover. Our condolences to his family.
