Delete23 ON over PE Ratio.
ReplyDeletePrice to Earning ratio is the key measure in stock valuation.
DeleteThanks. Never heard of P E Ratio earlier
DeleteThough I keep reading about P/E ratio almost daily, I did not connect. Kicking myself. Good one.
DeleteAlso, for 6D,I was chasing a (non existent Thomas Hardy novel!)
I heard PE ratio in the year 1996 during product evaluation in TVS. for me it's a deep word play. Thanks to COL.SIR & Avtaar. for visual presentation, gird. learned new references ETHER,RIDDLE,ARK. Have a nice weekend.

ReplyDelete21D- A little surprised. For a flash, one thinks of a second rather than a minute. On checking one of the meanings is tiny. Then realised it it is minuute (if I may put it so) rather than 60 secs.
ReplyDeleteBut then Minute in that sense is an adj.
ReplyDeleteIn the same sense as I will be with you in a minute
Deletecan anyone clarify 12A, Sheba=some people from 13 years ago?
ReplyDelete13 stands for answer for 13 which is Yemen.
DeleteSee the link over the word SHEBA in the main post
DeleteStill not clear what '13 years ago" refers to
Delete13 refers to clue no 13.
DeleteYears ago: in the past
The clue should be read as:
People who lived in the past, (in the current) yemen.
Please read it as people from 13(clue)/ years ago
DeleteIncarcerated is containment indicator
DeleteSheba is the Kingdom of Sheba (Queen of Sheba). Also per Chambers, Sheba or Saba refer to the people of Sheba - also used as adjective
DeleteWe should always make it a point to follow thw links given by Col. in the main post.
ReplyDeleteCol. 11A doubt about hard being anagrind. In the sense of knotty,, complex etc., it would be one, IMO
