Found it tough going initially, unusual for an Arden CW.

Lost my password and unable to retrieve as the 'Forgot password' link also is not recognizing my e-mail ID. Tried all the ID's to no avail.

DeleteApproval may take some time as the owner is in the UK.
I too had a problem in one of the earlier weeks. My remember password did not work and the sms on my mobile had been deleted. I was able to sue the forgot password link and got an email later giving me the password. Hope you get it in time
Delete1 Lord said to have looked back making such proclamations (6) FATWAS ? {FAT}{WAS<=} Is that a misprint for LARD? Or is it (Lord = ~lard = FAT) ?
ReplyDeleteSince it is Lord said i.e. sounding like Lord, (Lord = ~lard = FAT) seems to be okay. That is my anno also.
I suppose the password would have been received from them by e-mail. Could you check your mail searching Crypticsingh?
ReplyDeleteI understood that DG was referring to the UK site.
DeleteThe IXL, once your registration is approved, autofills the user mob. no. field once a digit is entered.
Got a prompt response from Mr Singh with my password
DeleteI must say that the website is well-done and well-maintained.
DeleteWe must express our best wishes for the Comp. to have a grand finale - wherever it is held.
I wonder if any arbiter is appointed for the final. I would love to be one of them.
Arden -
ReplyDeleteI am not taking any hint from your suggestion at 4a.
Yours most obediently.

You did follow his advice if you scanned toon under 6d - in an-udder form
Deletefront-al encounter!
DeleteTry that when the bull grabs you by its horns !
DeleteWhere is the bull? I see only a hornless/harmless cow !
DeleteIf you try following advice of Arden in 4a on the cow, the bull might take offence and charge ...
Delete...I see ! The bull is around there, somewhere, waiting to confront any offenders !!
DeleteAm not clear with the following Annos :
ReplyDelete10A : {C{ANIMAL*}E} CE for ?
24A : {SENT IN}{EL} EL for ?

DeleteEL is for an Amercian Railroad
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erie_Lackawanna_Railway
I had to reverse engineer it
Thanks, Kishore. I did try WIKI for American Railway but had trouble finding EL. Anyway I'll go through it once again.
DeleteEL = Elevated Railroad (In chambers)
DeleteCongrats, Mohsin once again !
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mohsin.
DeleteThanks, Col Saheb. I think I should buy a Chambers Dic. soon ! It seems no other Dic. can match it as far as abbreviations are concerned !!
DeleteThe above reply is in response to Col Sir @ 11:31
DeleteMohsin and MB?
DeleteHow can it be ?! Please see Paddy's comment @ 2:24 and mine @ 11:47 ! And I have this bad habit of confusing Padmanabhan for Raghunath and vice versa !!
DeleteHence I had to delete the earlier post :)
+1
ReplyDeleteI think that is why MB clarified. Mail sequence to be blames, I think.
ReplyDeleteI feel EL to American Railway is stretching it a bit far.
ReplyDelete...too far I believe ! I followed Kishore's method of reverse engineering i.e typed E L on WIKI and got the answer for American Railway !!
DeleteI do not think so. EL is elevated railway and is an American term. It has nothing as complicated as Kishore made it out to be in his10:59
DeleteIMO the word American is unnecessary in the clue. But considering the debate on this blog sometime ago regarding American terms .........well!
DeleteThough Deepak's EL definitely works better, I checked with Arden and he too had intended what I mentioned at 1059
DeleteAh! Then it is a stretch. Good for the muscles.
DeleteKnotty naughty Kishore!
ReplyDeleteJust chewed this week's Singhum !! Once you are logged in, you're locked in !! so no
ReplyDeletefear of losing one's password. Surprised to see my name as one of the all correct entries , tho' didn't expect due to my late entry. Poor consolation. Regret having criticised their blog but do find it difficult to punch in each letter separately , unlike Acrosslite which goes on to the next block after one is filled.
