Identify our Hyderabadi friends at the MICRO S&B snaps
ReplyDeleteThe special today at 10:30 is a prize CW so no comments to be posted here. I will be changing the comments setting to "moderated" at 10 AM so hopefully no one inadvertent comment with answers will creep in. General comments if any will be approved.

I am very happy to see the pics of the Hyderabadi friends. Now I can put a face to the names, though I was able to recognise MB from his frequent top-quality self-descriptions on this blog.
ReplyDeleteWe must have a meeting in Vizag so the mysterious Sandhya emerges. Can't the Hyd people come to Vizag?
Only if the seema- andhra is porous ...
DeleteIn the snap sent by me, (when I met Suresh and Vijaylakshmi in Vizag), I, in the bckground, am ''phantom-like', in the dim light.
DeleteSandhya, lives in Hyderabad, I think, and in the Hi tech city area a little far away from the town.
DeleteThere are 4 of us in Vizag, one of whom sent me an email but no phone number so have not contacted. 3 Bloggers and 1 "slogger on the blog". If Hyderabadis join we can have a biggish event.
DeleteI missed the meeting. My sister's m-i-l passed away and I was busy with the various ceremonies and guests.
DeleteThird edit- 'no single' inadvertent.....
ReplyDeleteThank you for the snaps and as CV said for giving a face to the names. Keep meeting and increase the 'crowd'!
ReplyDeleteTH brings out so many supplements and holds so many events but most of the are with an eye for advts and sponsors.
ReplyDeleteIt has also brought out some books.
But, though a pioneer in desi crosswords, it has done nothing to promote crosswords.
The upcoming centenary is not in its radar at all.
Wondering whether we should organise a meeting somewhere to mark that event.
We can make it a gala affair with some games, etc, thrown in.
Maybe around Xmas?
"most of these"
Deletewhat a shame that the Hindu is so unresponsive to its readers' wishes . Aren't we all as bloggers fostering its sales and name?
DeleteA gala crossword fiesta is welcome.
DeleteCompetitions often cause'' undesirable'' rivalry. Moreover, it causes stress and strain to ''win'' We can do IT for the sheer pleasure in a friendly cameraderie and relaxed atmosphere.. Lets make it a simple affair

ReplyDeleteOften when I see a name or a new name, I visit 'profile' but I find that no details are there.
ReplyDeleteWould you like to reveal what you are?
No full details are needed. Just sparse info. Serving mechanical engineer, retired chemical engineer, serving software consultant - such things will do. Please add city of residence.
Chaturvasi - retired journalist, Chennai
Col Deepak Gopinath - retired army officer, Bangalore
Raghunath - Chem Engineer (Marketing) - Hyderabad

DeleteThanks Paddy and Col Sir for Micro S&B snaps !
ReplyDeletePlease read Raghunath in place of Paddy !
DeleteI see that I am the first one to comment on the crossword of today !! Today's puzzle is a 9 down which is the clue of my day !!
ReplyDeleteBack to base after a sojourn of 5 months as a guest of Uncle Sam . Took all of four days running around restoring suspended services in full 8 cylinders blast. Feeling great and took some tome off to run through all the comments of the week that I missed. Will log on to the blog regularly from ''now on henceforth'' as the Kenyan president used to say !. Strange to see that despite several mentions of my Karmabhoomi Nairobi
and Swahili etc, no one seemed to have missed me !!??
As they say in your Kar-b, "Karibu !"
DeleteI stared at the output this morning but didn't see any poetry in it.
ReplyDeleteNo poetry in the diary, ha?!
DeleteIf you have a Blackberry, you are involved with Research in Motion !
DeleteCV"
DeleteBeing a Prose man, you're not well-versed in verses? POETRY IN MOTION aptly fitted the crossieas it flowed poetically from across and top to bottom !
Just finished the Director's prize puzzle .Very craftily drafted, I should say !!
DeleteToo long a wait until tomorrow morning? Waiting with bated breath to fish out the prize having cast the bait !
CV is quite well versed in the verses too. I have heard him spout verses from his mouth. But then, at 1144, he was talking of something altogether different ...
