Bhargav's Tale
A crazy cruciverbalist on New Year Eve,
In his dream saw
MARY JANE wearing a Mary Jane smoking a Mary Jane!!
Saw men in the VALLEY running with HOSEPIPEs to put out the fire on the RED SEA!!
Flying AIRSHIPS to DECODE the event!!
LIMPing people getting out of LIFEBOATS!
Persons in the party still enjoying their JULEPS and MOJO in the TAPROOMS.
DOCTOR TITO getting ready for the BAR EXAM!!
And finally saw this message in the crossword
HAPPY NU YEAR!!!
M for MIDDAY.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bhargav
DeleteAn earlier standard of indicating noon as "12M" or "12m" (for "meridies"), which was at one time specified in the U.S. GPO Government Style Manual,[5] has fallen into relative obscurity; the current edition of the GPO makes no mention of it
DeleteChambers still retains it
DeleteHappy New Year to one and all
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to all for a happy and prosperous new year. May all days begin with the same satisfaction, of solving THC in less than 30min (by 1am post N.Y. celebrations).
ReplyDeleteI see a message embedded in the grid....
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! Saw your grid! Pie-eyed are we, after all the liquid nourishments of the night? :)
DeleteHappy New Year to all.
ReplyDeleteMay the august offerings continue through the year.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.
ReplyDeleteThank you Incognito Sir. This is the best crossword ever encountered by me. I could complete it in just one and half hour's time and without much references. Not the least to say the crossword was easy or for beginners. It was an exercise in setting the crossword for all types of solvers to participate. I used all the principles of crossword solving for which you have given ample opportunity in each and every clue.
Normally I take about 6 to 7 hours to complete and liberally use references.
Thanks once again. The right gift on a New Year's Day.Expecting more such lovely crosswords from you, Sir.
Wish you and your family members a very happy and prosperous New Year.
PS: I am an ardent fan of your crosswords and eagerly await for its arrival.
Ganesan
Thank you, sir
DeleteHaapy New Year to all bloggers & setters!
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to start the New Year- with an Incognito CW and that too ticking off all months. May all the months be full of happiness for all.
Thanks to all who put in their wishes earlier.
ReplyDeleteVasant,
Enjoyed your New Year Wishes with a lovely poem- wishes overflowing the cup onto the saucer. For those who have not seen it, pl. read up late entries in yesterday's blog.
Thanks Sir. May the New Year be filled with peace and prosperity.
DeleteI am not Pie eyed. Still trying to get the embedded message. Trying... trying...
ReplyDeleteYou need to be loaded beyond permissible limits to see what CGB has seen! :)
DeleteI notice from the side panel that our blog has done 410 CW's in 365 days and we still need more!
ReplyDeleteWe have been doing more than 400 since 2013- I think after the introduction of Sunday Specials.
Considering we had 52 Sundays, we missed out on 7 days! Consider a whole week without crosswords!
DeleteMissing days on account of IXL
DeleteWouldn't that be 10? I think, we had extras on some regular days to cover up 3.
Delete11 including the finals. We did have some extras on regular days
DeleteThe extra 4 were Anniversary special, Indep Day Special, Dr SN analysis by Cv and S&B Meet post
DeleteAll accounted for. Extremely happy we have been able to maintain this average for the last 4 years. Good going.
DeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to all!
