ReplyDeleteSee my comment above.
DeleteThe wordplay is precise
Avataar clues extremely clever! tho'13A and 26A complicated for me. And 12A and 18A fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIn 11A , I have a doubt. Since sings is to be substituted, the verb carol rather than the Noun, Carol could have been preferred, I thought.
Thanks for the feedback
DeleteAre you referring to the 'S being part of the wordplay? That is OK I think since punctuation is to be ignored in the cryptic reading
OK, fine!
Delete6d...REALTY ----->T
ReplyDelete3D..... extraordinary sex gets ordinary---ORDINARY =(PLAIN) + OVER (SEX)= EXPLAINS
Spot on. SEX is to be anagrammed though. SEX* around PLAIN
Delete2D....checkers after leaving the gate of kindergarten - CHECKERS...k WILL LEAVE (Kinder garden)---creches Anno--Anagram of chec(k)ers
DeleteThanks . I got your anno. definition.
DeleteOnly 14A remaning
ReplyDeleteA "rookie's" question, if you like.
ReplyDeleteHow in a two word answer/solution overlap of letters (in the two words) is right? (like in 13Ac & 20Dn)
No Problem. The cryptic instruction in both cases are clear-hence two word or single word doesn't matter.
DeleteIt is perhaps because for the two words our mind requires two distinct clues or wordplay elements.
Delete+1 Vasant
DeleteI could not reconcile "Ease" and "Senate" and got stuck for long till PV & KKR (re)solved it.

ReplyDeletethink &lit
DeleteYes ESNE it is.
Deleteo(NE)s following servil(E) clas(S) gives ES NE.
&lit - whole clue is definition
Thanks Avatar! I took 'servile class's as definition and was struggling with annotation.
DeleteAll in all a challenging puzzle worth enjoying.
