The 9x9 puzzle is in Tamil. It is a Deepavali Special (Tamil). The 15x15 grid in English is a straightforward It is a techno-science based thematic.
You may visit the setter's friend Hari Balakrishnan' s page linked below that provides an online solving tool.
I understand it is mobile-friendly and displays just one clue at a time depending on where the cursor is on the grid.

DeleteCV.: Thanks for the link on Hari Balakrishnan. His software is very user friendly. He has created a nice one for Mr. S. Parthasarathy , who is also a crossword buff. He has his own blog where he provides the Sunday Times of India and Economic Times crosswords with solutions daily. I use them regularly. It is not ok for I pads strangely and I had asked Mr . Balakrishnan and he had agreed to discuss with Mr. Parthasarathy , but no further progress has been seen. He is in Madras . Perhaps, you can approach him and seem his assistance . I will send separately my exchanges with them. I had mentioned this earlier also in this forum and has also invited him to participate actively here. No response at all from hiim!

It is a clue type where letters are inserted separately at regular intervals in another word to get the answer.

I also think I have written a clue where two letters are iserted in different places in another word. Bt I can't cite it as matabase is niot by clue type.
I wouldn't have got it in first pass even if lug was given instead of tow!!!
