  4. ANNA and her RHODESIAN husband SAM maintained a MENAGERIE of animals in their farm near River Congo in ZAIRE. On the PREMISES of the farm were young rabbits, from which the duo made CONY, without an IOTA of compunction and exported it, in spite of TRENCHANT criticism from SOME native conservationists, who also claimed that commercial exploitation endagered the NESTING site of the JET black long snout crocodiles. In ADDITION, they also made POWDERED FODDER from GUAVA, used for making the chicken ADIPOSE. To beat the STRESSES of a harsh life in the wild, her husband went once to a STAG party at a FRIEND's place. When he was away, Anna developed high fever. The native MEDIC, a witch doctor, who looked like a GORGON, was summoned. The medic diagnosed QUOTIDIAN fever and recited a MANTRA AT RANDOM in Swahili and administered a herbal potion. Anna became SEDATEd and the fever came down. A local weekly MAGAZINE, probed the CONTEXT of the story and got the potion examined. It was nothing but cinchona decoction that EQUALS the modern quinine. The incident caused them to develop a STREAK of kindness and they gave a handsome donation to the World Wildlife Fund

  6. Some clues on Africa (Zaire, Zimbabwe, wild zebra) and one on US state (Rhode Island) and Europe (as Europe and as Spanish city, also a Senora thrown in), two on India (anna, India transformed) a world-travelling puzzle.

I liked the very first clue for Magazine, very innocuous.
