Dr RKE's TalePiece

JILL, an INTERN in a law firm, is holidaying in a RANCH. She takes a bite of BLINI, SWALLOWS quickly a MEASURED quantity of orange juice from a PITCHER (or is it an EWER), wears her PLIMSOLLs and is out of her ABODE early morning, for an AGILE  jog in the LACROSSE ground. She ENSUREs that the sun is up before going for a DIVE in the pool. Her HIRSUTE dog, a bearded collie, runs with her but stops at the pool edge, because of his FRIGHT of water. Today, THOR has sent a thunderstorm RIPPING through the ranch and she is REMISS at not having brought a raincoat. She breaks the CLOSED door of a cabana by the poolside, LOOTs a mackintosh, and emerges in the rain, unaware that there is an INSECT in its sleeve. The bite from the insect causes a CLOT in her arm. She cuts short her holiday and despite the pain in her arm, while IN FLIGHT on her return she PRATTLES to her fellow passengers about what a CARNIVAL of a time she had, displaying proudly her selfies on her iPhone with its unmatched RETINA display. Aren't we all good at that kind of self-deception?

  1. Typical Incognito. Loved it.
Liked Abodes for the use of quarters- it took long for the penny (not quarter) to drop.
Did not know Blini, but wp led me to it and just had to confirm- Ditto for Rohu- left with 2 choices after crossings and I hit the right one first.

  2. Thank you Ramesh for the nice blog.
Dd not know the meaning of Dive as a disreputable bar.
Struggling with Festival in stead of carnival until I remembered his themed one on Goa carnival in the last round and then the automobile fell in place.

  3. Nice thoughts about a vacation in a ranch despite the biting insect- during lockdown and social isolation.

  6. As days go by mankind is caught in FRIGHT.
They are advised to stay in their ABODES and not to move out. This is to ENSURE that they are safe and keep others safe too.
Shops are CLOSED except those selling essentials where you approach in MEASURED steps.
This attack is neither from a WITCH nor from an INSECT. Smallest of the small. A virus. Like a suicide bomber.
Nature is unaffected. There I see a bird DIVE IN its FLIGHT.
Oh Man. Learn to live in harmony with Nature.
