  1. 28A: I took it as (CAR)(A)PACE; in front indicating Vehicle should go in front of A

  2. I gave myself a pat on the back for having completed a Krisskross puzzle,that too before 8.30!
    Of course,I had a take a lot of help- google,dict.etc but no matter. A completion is a completion.

  3. Some I filled in with the help of def.and crossings,but that is legit. parsing may come later.
    A brainstorming session for me,though some may find it on the easier side. But enough to keep one interested.
    Thank you Krisskross!

  4. I liked taxi,simply because one does not connect moving slowly and a taxi!
    I was thinking of inch etc.but the T was fixed and then taxiing of a plane came to mind.

  5. To move slowly on the ground or on the surface of the water before takeoff or after landing:
    This is what the Free dic.says.

    1. Just curious to know which clues you found tough, Suresh. It was not my intention to make any clue deliberately difficult, but could have happened.

  13. 3D- it is kind of indirect homonym. From peers to prise to prize. Is it okay? I don't remember to have come across such usage earlier.

    1. Pries sounds like prize

    2. It is a direct hp. You have to find a synonym of a word that means peers which is hp of Prize. No problem.

    3. Also synonyms are ok with homophone clues

  14. Good grid. Solved all. But could not parse STRIKING. Can u please explain how u get TRIK for gift?
    My COD - LOAN SHARK, ASCEND, JABBER

    1. Gift = TRICK (e.g. he has the trick of making others laugh)
      not around = remove C (C = around, about)
      TRICK -C = TRIK
      Carol = SING
      TRIK in SING => STRIKING

      Hope this helps.
