28a A<=>CAR (PACE), imu.
ReplyDelete28A: I took it as (CAR)(A)PACE; in front indicating Vehicle should go in front of A
ReplyDeleteYes Vasant. That is the intended anno.
DeleteSeems right.
ReplyDeleteI gave myself a pat on the back for having completed a Krisskross puzzle,that too before 8.30!
ReplyDeleteOf course,I had a take a lot of help- google,dict.etc but no matter. A completion is a completion.
Some I filled in with the help of def.and crossings,but that is legit. parsing may come later.
ReplyDeleteA brainstorming session for me,though some may find it on the easier side. But enough to keep one interested.
Thank you Krisskross!
Thanks Paddy!
DeleteI liked taxi,simply because one does not connect moving slowly and a taxi!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of inch etc.but the T was fixed and then taxiing of a plane came to mind.
To move slowly on the ground or on the surface of the water before takeoff or after landing:
ReplyDeleteThis is what the Free dic.says.
3D- Pries from Peers?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeletePeers=looks into noisily =pries
DeleteSorry deleted a typo and again a typo came - I meant nosily
DeleteGood one. This peer (or peep) did not come to mind. I kept on thinking about earl etc.
DeleteExcellent clues. Could not finish though. Thanks to a rabbit who came to my mind instead of jabber
ReplyDeleteThere again,crossings helped me to get the jabber.
DeleteThanks TN! Glad you liked it.
DeleteYes. Excellent clues and surfaces. How good is 15Dn surface!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot CPC.
DeleteYes,one would be bowled by it!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous puzzle! Thoroughly enjoyed solving. Thank you Kriskross. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy you liked it MB.
DeleteWeekend bonanza from KrisKross. Thoroughly enjoyed solving. Especially liked the cluing for 1Ac, 9Ac,25Ac,17D,15D and 21D.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nagendra.
DeleteQuite a puzzling grid and four of the clues were pretty tough to solve.
ReplyDeleteJust curious to know which clues you found tough, Suresh. It was not my intention to make any clue deliberately difficult, but could have happened.
Delete3D- it is kind of indirect homonym. From peers to prise to prize. Is it okay? I don't remember to have come across such usage earlier.
ReplyDeletePries sounds like prize
DeleteIt is a direct hp. You have to find a synonym of a word that means peers which is hp of Prize. No problem.
DeleteAlso synonyms are ok with homophone clues
DeleteFine.Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGood grid. Solved all. But could not parse STRIKING. Can u please explain how u get TRIK for gift?
ReplyDeleteMy COD - LOAN SHARK, ASCEND, JABBER
Gift = TRICK (e.g. he has the trick of making others laugh)
Deletenot around = remove C (C = around, about)
TRICK -C = TRIK
Carol = SING
TRIK in SING => STRIKING
Hope this helps.
