  9. Sir. 2d Can’t we say as singhalese . We use to pronounce with ‘ga’ sound. Setter mentioned with Sinhalese. How to consider annotation for SIN. Please correct me.

  10. Transgression? Is sin.
Only in Tamil we say Singalam. It is only Sinhalese.

    1. Yes Paady. . It’s violation of law . So neighbour or country pronouncing with ‘ga’ sound. But in dictionary mentioned both. Thanks for the clarification

  12. Hello dear Mr. Kishore Rao,
Glad to admit candidly that I managed to solve all except 4 & 21 Down clues.
Well, in tune with what's happening in and around Kabul these days, your 16-Across clue was a superb one and on this score, kudos to you...

    1. I think you are referring to 16d

    2. You may also notice that 21d refers to abandonment of Hummer, as seen in Kabul. This is a chance coincident. The puzzle was set long before the developments in Afghanistan

    1. The published version has an enu of 7 instead of 2,5 which was submitted. This might have been the cause of confusion.

  14. I had put it in earlier. I gave 'Credit' to TH and not to Kishore for the change of anno.

  16. Fairly easy for rookies like me though in some cases, I could figure out the annotation after getting the word with the help of words around. Thanks to the setter.
