  2. 29 A
    BOND = ADHERE
    A DIMENSION = A D
    THIS PLACE = HERE
    SO THE ANSWER IS ADHERE

  3. Found it much easier than Saturday's puzzle! Liked RALLIES, MORAINE, AGGRANDISEMENT, ISLAMABAD to name a few. Had the same doubt about 8D - def points to GOOGOL but wp gives GOOGLE.

The number 10 raised to the power 100 (10100), written out as the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros.

  6. Excellent puzzle. Loved Action Stations, Aggrandisement, Prelim, Islamabad among other clue. My only doubt other than Google was in 25A: Top to Bottom indicator kosher for an Across clue?

    1. Bottom
      BRITISH
the furthest part or point of something.
"the shed at the bottom of the garden"

      Top
      BRITISH
the end of something that is furthest from the speaker or a point of reference.
"the bus shelter at the top of the road"

How to make any sense! Of it?

    2. Thank You, Prasad.
@Paddy: not opinion but doubts always assail one especially in matters of indicators.

    3. British ways of expression s really confusing. Simply saying end (it could be either) could be far simpler.

    4. "far simpler"! Is it near to simpler or the other way!

  7. Vasant, In this case 'top to bottom' should be seen as top of the word to bottom of the word'.

Many of the reversal indicators are used both for across and down clues. Of course indicators

such as 'go west' or 'from the east' 'retrograde' etc cannot be used for down clues. Whenever

I come across these 'interchangeable' reversal indicators in the UK dailies I make a note for

future reference. For example from The Guardian, 26608 clues 2D and 5D. 27408 clue 21 A,

26395 clue 20D, 26445 clue 7D etc. These are a few examples, and there are many more. If I

come across any such clues in the future, I shall mention it in the blog.

    2. +1
'Top of the word to its bottom'- really makes sense irrespective of the fact that it is an across or down clue. Thank you.
