  3. Why is it that we are more aware of seismic than seism. (Spellcheck draws my attention!)
    Just frequent usage of seismic?

    1. sir I too filled with SEISM for sake of grid requirements. but usually we call it as seismic zone. Only Dr X will justify.

    2. Seism is the actual word for earthquake. Seismic is an adjective indicating "related to earthquake".
      Earthquake is more easy for gen population than seism.

  5. Lovely crossword from Dr.X today. Especially liked the cluing for 1A,22A,24A,27A,8D,10D. Gnome as banker new to me. Everyday we learn by such high standard of cluing.

  11. Thanks Dr X for given some relaxaton from Tough to moderate mode. 13 d was my CoD. lot of substitutions . BTW, 6D, I ot the answer. but the word RID getting in Dic. as free. Though it was not perfect def. w.r.to clear I opted out. But, good solve by CPC.
