DeleteNoted, thanks. I was over exuberant
DeleteNevermind.
Delete9D incorrect though
Pl cross-check
After yesterday's LB clues , incognito rekindles the fire to attempt CW.
ReplyDeleteI wonder which one is easier to set. Yesterday's or Today's.
Thank you Incognito for a happy weekend.
What a sumptuous spread!
ReplyDeleteTo think that TH made us wait fr a week for this breakfast, starter, lunch & dinner all ROLLed in one. In a way,it worked up a good apetite.Thank you Incognito.
Thanks, Paddy! I am sure you will not have any cause for complaint :-)
DeleteOne complaint though. You cpuld have included a few more veg dishes for people like me!
DeletePaddy, you can duck the Peking Duck. In all other cases, either take the vegetarian version, or... as any shady joint would do, just remove the non vegetarian bits...
DeleteYou would have heard that revenge is a dish best served cold. But these dishes were delivered over a month back and took a long time to reach the table. So they must be quite cold and full of revenge...
DeleteNot just a shady joint- my daughter had this experience in a 5 star hotel restaurant. Of course in U.S.where they don't know the difference!
DeleteCol., Thank you for the inviting pictures. I was expecting them.
ReplyDeleteEntertaining as usual but a bit too much of Chinese fare!
ReplyDeleteProbably that was the theme!
DeleteAll the food is from a Chinese restaurant called Ug Lee Duck Ling by Chef Wats Coo King
DeleteInitially I thought it was a real restaurant in Bangalore until a more careful study revealed the chef- 'what's cooking?' or I should say who's cooking but Kishore!
DeleteBut there is an ugly restaurant in NY
DeleteFund of info!
DeleteA clue in today's Eco Times-
ReplyDeletePledge man on board (4)
Uncle's security deposit!
DeleteI put it in here w.r.to our discussion about minor powers, pawn etc about a week ago.
DeleteYea, Eco. Times also making the mistake of calling a pawn a man(ie) piece !
DeletePawn is a chessman of the lowest theoretical value,
DeleteSo nothing wrong there
Yes,man is right. It is different from piece.
DeleteWhile there is no doubt that a pawn is a chessman, one may speculate whether a queen is a chessman ;-) Some people say, references to "Man" include "woman" within their meaning. Or should we say chesswoman... A very powerful piece no doubt, the only man in the cabinet as some described Maggie Thatcher or IG
DeleteActually 'woman' includes 'man', literally and during gestation...

DeleteThere is an actual pieice named Mann/man in courier chess, which moves like a king but ofcourse can be sacrificed when necessary.
DeleteIt's like batsmen being called 'batters' nowadays as earlier we didn't have women playing batsman was fine.
DeleteEverytime I hear the word 'batters' I feel hungry as it reminds me of Idli- Dosa batter 🤣🤣
Nice & breezy grid. As i was unwell - i missed the CW last 3 days. Need to catch up over the weekend. Thanx Kishore for that sumptuous spread though me too a veg like Paddy. 🙄
