  10. AFTERDARK's deletions , additions and alternations are 9 across like a conger eel, 8 down.
    HOTSPUR is a favourite amongst punters . CELESTA - and another one like CELESTE shouldn't be confused with one another.

    SPLINTS -- ailment of horse ? I have heard of shin-splints .

    1. It is not that you should not participate- all of us do regularly. What Col. meant was that the particular clue was meant to be solved by first time commenters to encourage newer people to participate. You are welcome to comment about other clues and any doubts,errors reg. them etc. In Sunday specials each one is allowed to put in 3 answers and you may put in your solutions there.

    2. Dr Krishnamoorthy, you have misunderstood my remark. As Padmanabhan has said one clue a day is left till 10 AM for a person who has never commented here to solve. After 10 AM anyone is free to give out the answer if a new commenter has not solved it till that time.
