    On a different note:
    The Guardian has a new setter for cryptics - Vulcan (2nd grid published today). Same person as our Vulcan of THC?

      I put the same question last Monday. Vulcan is absent here since 2 runs. But setting style seems British with no & Lit clues that was the trademark of Vulcan here.

    4A and 25D are straight/'quick' clues rather than cryptic. Unusual for TH cw's.

      25D is a double def. FLUSH means "loaded" (rich) and also is a poker hand.

      4A. I meant to say 'cuts into three pieces' led me to the answer and there was no need to read the clue further or parse it.
      25D. Answer is festa and the clue begins with 'festival'!
