ReplyDeleteWhy stop?
DeleteEase?
DeleteAs stops tee. Its a teasing anno.
DeleteYou mean
DeleteTE(AS)E? and Tee from Teeing off (start)?
Quite a teasing clue and anno.
Stop is break; start=tee [it is starting place for each hole on a golf course]
DeleteStop is container indicator. Start is tee. Tee stops As.
DeleteTough one today.
ReplyDelete7D- Separately indicates 2 words for 'work on it'?
I think two words for EGO = E+GO
DeleteWork=Toil on it i.e E+Try
DeleteYes E &Go separately.
Delete27A: Isn't "exotic" before "island" redundant since the order of the letters is not changed?
ReplyDeleteExotic is anind for spoke. About is for going around ISL
DeleteThen the anag ind is not next to the anag fodder. How exactly is that right?
Delete13A: Why is "wine" = TENT?
ReplyDeleteBecause one of the meanings for 'tent' is
Deletea red table wine from Alicante, Spain (Collins)
This has been used by other setters inluding myself.T
Vasi Sir,
DeleteCan I take "used" as consumed?
Yes, I think so.
Delete:-)
DeleteNice exchange!
16D: "rich" is an adjective; BLING is a noun. Awkward.
ReplyDeleteI did the puzzle late in the afternoon. Came here to clear a few annos. Having got used to Arden's tricks like rise=go up and the well disguised elissions, some of the tough clues came off easily. For others had to biff. Thankfully didn't need to take electronic aids.
