    I like to read and enjoy good, simple cartoons like Blondie, Mutt and Jeff, Dennis the Menace, etc. But nowadays ToI, the marketing product that it is where readability is at a discount, publishes Blondie etc in such small dimensions that I cannot read the matter in the bubbles comfortably. As for cartoons that are published in good display in TH supplement, I don't like them a wee bit and so won't look at them. Am I alone here - in not liking brainy cartoons?

      I am with you on the selection of cartoons, Denis topping the list.
      Suggest reading them on the net when you can enlarge them to suit you. I do the same.
      DC suppement (Chennai Chronicle) carries Dennis,Blondie and it is available free on the net (without subscribing)

      Dennis, Blondie, Phantom, Mandrake, Flash Gordon, Bahadur, Tintin, Asterix, Amar Chitra Katha and Twinkle were and still is my favoutite.
      My latest indulgence: Got a complete set of Tintin comics.

      Never! He’s a primary teacher for all beginners in cryptic crossies. Today, of course, he was in a droll mood and a bit naughty in some clues. Crosswords are for pleasure and need not be always cranium crackers !
      As for me, they are my elixir of life.

    The themed words are all characters in the Blondie series of comics. I too did not spot it until explained by Prasad.
