    2. You do your research thoroughly before posting. The clue appeared in an Arden puzzle on 31st May 2016 where I had given the partial anno and Bhavan had completed the anno. It was clued then as
Browbeat two females in the family

    4. Sometime back you asked why I was reading old posts. "Anno pending" posts give the different play types on clue. This one was in memory when solving. Yes, checked the date before posting.

But to read the conversations between kishors, Richard, col, CV and few others from those days is nothing less than a good book. There is also enough enlightenment material there.

    1. The def. is more confusing than the original clue! Can you please recheck, Prasad?
I am with Col. on the anno. The cluing in fact leads to field.

    2. Sorry. Don't know how that happened. Typing from tab.
Def:harvest from land as in agricultural yield.

Agree on the anno. Its Arden so it could end up being an idiom.

    3. It is a reverse deletion!

  3. 1D- I think the def. is only 'He is known', since constant is needed in wp.

    1. Remember Planck's Constant?

    2. I remeber, but constant C is needed in wp to get 'planCk'.
So the def. is obviously 'he is known'.
Otherwise constant is on double duty.

  4. We seem to be getting China as a pal quite frequently (Nepal)
Is the 'Pal' in 1A also has anything to do with china?

  5. What Prasad means for 1A- P+Al-
Is it P for page & Al for boy?

  6. 12A Clue, I think, should read the otherway- lose a foot and gain a yard.

    1. When one looses a yard and gain only a foot, one has actually yielded (to enemy/opponent).

    2. But we don't harvest to lose.
