  1. GODOT didn't arrive till 8.30am. He was not be seen anywhere in the PURLIEU. But for these 2 managed the rest. Had it been coal price instead of coal priced, 'with certain limits' could be taken as an indicator to remove the first and last letter of 'price' to get 'ric' that would have teamed up with 'scattered' coal and given CALORIC, defined as relative to heat

  2. It was a difficult solve for me. Actually, I gave up solving!
    7DN; 8DN; 17DN and 23DN stopped me forever.

  3. 10A- probably 'certain limits' is the indication for the irregular removal of letters.
Did not get Godot,Rondel and the long 8D.
Looks to be a crime special.

  7. As Gridman comes to his week's quota end, this grid ,for the most part, looked like a filler, as most of the clues were easy to solve. But no, he belied my hope with a few tough ones like PURLIEU,UXORICIDE , GODOT etc. Incidentally, UXORIOUS means one who is excessively fond of one's wife, as most of us are. UXORICIDE means the killing of one's wife ! Here,,Gridman seemed to have stopped short by omitting the word WIFE. For. NABAR. any comments ? Enjoyed immensely indoors as I decided to give a break to my sightseeing. Nearing the end of my sojourn here in Tokyo. Thanks, Gridman.

  9. Cheated on 7d and 8d and didn't get 23d. A rare DNF for a Gridman puzzle.

  12. 23d is unfinished work. The clue is wrong. I took efforts to change the clue on Sat'day and also took some precautions but they did not fructify. Regretted.

  13. 21A was also wrong, wasn't it? Ibis instead of iris? Got everything except 23D, but had minor quibbles for the clues of 24A, 25A.
