DeleteNice clues. Two feedbacks for you, Novice. The grid. Three consecutive unches are no-no. Full stop after clues is passe; not required.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise an excellent crossword.
Vasant
DeleteThanks for the feedback.
Didn't understand "3 consecutives unches". Can you please expain?
No full stops the mark tully way. Got it.
Much obliged for your comments. Happy to get it from a pro solver.
Unches are unchecked letters. Letters that don't cross with Down clue letters for an Across clue and vice versa. For example in 1 Across the eighth, ninth and tenth letters are unchecked. Similarly in 14 Across and 27 Across we find three consecutive unches.
DeleteNot only no need for full stops, sometimes they may play a major role in the clue itself and may even be a definition for a solution word like period, for example. Comma certainly has been used in the past as part of the clue.
Deletethanks. Will attend to this in the next one. Great comment.
DeleteConsecutive inches are found in 1, 14, 15 and 27 across

Colonel. I will do. Thanks for the review first and the opportunity. Enjoyed it. Apt date to publish the grid as the question says.
DeleteNOVICE : You say No Vice: I say , You are no NOVICE. cryptic crossies are indeed acceptable vices that hold one in a vice.. Makes one wise. My advice, don't give up. I enjoyed the grid. Constructive comments are advisable and not adversorial. Looking forward to your next visit.
