    From what I have read in a decades-old book on contraceptives, in early years there was indeed a washable and reusable condom.
    PS My grandfather was an LMP during the Raj and this book I must have found in the lumber room in his palatial house where the joint family lived. He himself had written a book on ob-gyn in the vernacular, Telugu I think, though Kannada is our mother tongue.
