AGAINST ALL ODDS, Mr.PARROT, won the STRAW POLL, not just because he was a GOOD MAN but because he was able to communicate his POINTS OF VIEW succinctly from the PODIUM, about the urgent need for abolition of the PEDICABS. His DEFIANT rival, Mr.SALAMI, wanted those FRIGHTFUL contraptions retained because he was to start a pedicab aggregating service (akin to Ola or Uber) with a ROMANTIC name "UMIAK". Mr. Salami was wont to PUT his OAR IN and he could not TONE DOWN his rhetoric. The WHOLE assembly was in STARTLES by Mr.Salami's flippant disregard for the DESPAIR of the wretched drivers of the rickshaws. The assembly BURNED its BOATS and voted for the abolition move. The members could HEAVE a sigh of relief, when EPISODIC CASH DOLE OUT was announced by Mr.Parrot to aid the drivers till they were fully rehabilitated. The proceedings ended with the PSALMIST singing the Thanksgiving Psalms 107:1, 13-15.

ReplyDeleteStrangely, I found a grid construction error in a recent TIMES crossie. Et, tu, Times ?
Raju.. I forgot to send you the corrected.. This means at least there is one person who does the Times puzzle regularly.
DeleteDr. X's puzzles have a lot in common with The Times puzzles. Classic. No CA, no RA, no elissions. 100% Ximenean. Superb surfaces.
But Chaitanya corrected the error in his Acrosslite version.
