Probably they are glued to TVs for US election updates.
DeleteThat's why this good puzzle is waiting for commenters still.
Lovely crossword.
ReplyDelete8d TREATISE...treat i(S)e InstitutE Spain
ReplyDeleteMeans formal study
Annotation is not correct. There is no indicator to take I & E from Institute
DeletePersonally, I could not reckon the solution to the clue of 22 Down. Can one of the members kindly clarify this.
ReplyDeleteThe clue to 21 Down was a fantastic one!!
Since I faulted by solving 1 Across with the word EPIDEMIC, I could not guess the solutions to 1 Down and 2 Down...
In a nutshell, well-compiled grid and kudos to Lightning.

DeleteThe interactive interface on the hindu site changed. Now it doesn't allow checking the words ... is it deliberate or a glitch?
ReplyDeleteMust be deliberate as it has been a long time request from crossword buffs. I am sure the feature will be enabled on the next day.
DeleteTreatise - treat (consider) + i(institute) + s(southern) + e(Spain- from espana). Meaning formal study.
ReplyDeleteWell done
