DeleteThen it should be around right not right around
DeleteThat around was a edit mistake. Original clue was different and got changed at the last minute and by oversight around was not removed. Mea Culpa
Delete2d news is gen NN, so I took the second as Greek! Nu.

ReplyDeleteThe above is a clue in FT in 16627 by Velia, a new composer.
Try to solve this cold. After you get the answer - or not - visit (if you like)
http://www.fifteensquared.net/2020/11/06/financial-times-16627-by-velia/
and read my comment there.
You may post your reaction here- or thereunder. Thanks.
Is there a space missing, is it a verse. Think it's iffy if the silver is expected to read that way.
DeleteThe solution part , I have no particular comment.
I could not solve it cold,but on seeing the solution in the filled grid my first thought was definition should def.be a separate word/phrase. Lift and separate does not work there,. I was glad your opinion was the same.
Delete15D what gives DI? Didn't understand. Could someone please help?
ReplyDeleteDetective inspector
DeleteDI = Detective Inspector
Delete13A typo in Anno
