  2. Quite a nice puzzle. 13ac took some time, as I was confused by a bone. If it had been bone not preceded by a, I would have guessed immediately. When the name of the bone is given, 'a' put me out for some time. But that's the game. I liked 6a particularly 'pupil wearing glasses'. Thank you Afterdark for a good grid.

  8. No loose clues, very few went above one's head, nothing illegible, no major aches, but not obviously solvable too. Hereby declare the two (yesterday's and today's) as a great start to the year.

  9. Loved voile - heard that word after ages. Brought back memories of visiting textile shops to buy dress materials for stitching clothes - a forgotten art today.
