  2. Very good puzzle. All clues got solved but not without some careful thinking. I got the long ones (3d and 6d) first and thus crossings helped. My greatest favourite was 16d. 18a, 24a, 14d and 8d are other favourites.

  4. 26A clue should have accommodated an extra e. Seend for ~send? Just my thoughts.

    1. +1. The homophone has to be a plausible word in OED is my understanding.
      "Told John to dispatch" would have been better.
