That's the bouncer, but did not know about idle chatter

Thank you Col. for your wishes.

Some clues made you smile with their witty surface. Thanks DrX.
intuition & eighty too..wondering what would happen if one forgets one's wife's number
DeleteBe free of 18A?!
DeleteI needn't worry! My wife has no number.
DeleteForgetting wife's number? How many wives?
DeleteKKR did not notice the apostrophe! Purposely?
DeleteOne wife may have many numbers, my dear Koti.
DeleteTx Vasant and Happy Tamil New Year all :)
DeleteVishu and Tamil new year greetings to all.
ReplyDeleteThere are journals on specialist subjects containing mostly serious articles by academics and scholars. One might be called The Literary Review. Magazine is OK; maybe 'journal' might have been better.
ReplyDeleteThis is only in reply to the Comment.
As I read the clues and saw the answers I felt that the surface reading of many clues in this puzzle is excellent.
Thank you Chaturvasi Sir! Your words mean a lot!
DeleteNecktie was nice too. Lateral thinking is needed for solving many clues.

DeleteThank you Doc. for the interesting piece of info. Did not know that though I was following motorcycle races along with F1 some time back.
DeleteHappy Tamil new year & Vishu to all !
ReplyDeleteTwo long clues, involving movments in the opposite direction of the other! Nice clues.
ReplyDeleteYes started the grid with them :) Tx Raghunath Sir!
DeleteNot to detract from it but just to record:
DeleteOften, I have used in two symmetrical slots phrases that had opposites as part of them.
Sometimes the same grid had two/three such instances.
Of course, these will be put in long slots before the crossings take a character of their own.
In my DB, I have not marked any grid for its feature (pangram, etc), so I am afraid I can't cite instances.
Dr X has given a delicious Vishu & Tamil New year feast for the mind !He should appear here more often for us to get used to his mind-jugglery. Superb word play.
ReplyDeleteParticularly enjoyed cracking 29 across,6 down, 9 down and 12 across. Thanks Dr Nabar. God bless you.
Happy Vishu to the Colonel and others who celebrate it and Tamil New Year to ye-all .
Tx Raju for your kind words as always!:)
DeleteHow did you manage to crack 29 A?! None of us could.
ReplyDeleteI meant 26 across= I am a bit dyslexic , you see, Paddy !
