ReplyDelete15A- High as anagrind? First time to my knowledge.
I was nowhere near getting 'Equating'. Thinking in terms of evening clothes as def. Aha moment of the day.
High has been used earlier
DeleteHigh was used by Gridman
DeleteYes, its a valid anagram indicator in the sense of "drunk"
DeleteThank you Col. Tipsy?
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteTipsy in the morning Deepak?
Delete13Dn Clear Toned meaning perfect tune as spoonerism of tear (sad expression) and cloned (replicated)
ReplyDeleteMeaning 'with perfect tune'
ReplyDeleteGood one. Rev.and the setter should feel happy.
DeleteWell solved CPC - that too a Spooner clue - which is hard for many solvers..:)
Delete21-A was a superb clue and happy to say that I did solve it whereas 3-D prompted me to scratch my pate to no ends, literally making me the 'baldest'!!
ReplyDeleteAfter accessing this blog, saw the solutions to a cpuple of my unsuccessful attempts for the day and in this context, I am keen to know how 20-D has been reckoned as IGNITE.
Col. Saab or any other member may kindly enlighten me please...
Reread as
DeleteSay bottling can, reflects.
Pls see LVs explanation below.
I call it prose order- like we do to poems to understand them better.
DeleteThanks to all of you for stirring up my inert thoughts!!
DeleteIMO 20Dn is excellently clued.
ReplyDeleteThanks DNM Rao

DeleteHa ha KKR garu. CGB sir's cartoons are Eggcellent
DeleteHarder exercise today. Enjoyed all the same.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nagendra Prasad. Glad you enjoyed it even though it was a bit harder.
DeleteI answered 8D as Ill reputation ( I guess confused with ill repute) and then kept thinking of an 8 letter word ending in bi for 7A :-(
ReplyDeleteWrong entries get me stuck up as well - usually when I get stuck at some clues / crossings, it's a sign that there is a wrong answer. Since there are not too many words that end with I and fit the pattern, you could have resolved it eventually though it would have slowed you down.
DeleteBut there was a Boy and a One in the clue so couldn't let go of the bi 😁
DeleteThank u Hypatia. I got all but foolishly wrote NET COSTS for NET WORTH.
ReplyDeleteI was so proud of getting CLEAR TONED & LAPPETS.
But there. Once again missed a Hypatia Centum. 🙁
Great Gowei - just one wrong answer is not too bad. Well done on cracking the Spooner clue and Lappet which was a new word for many solvers. Missed you for the first grid. Hope you managed to complete that too.
DeleteTo be honest - i have yet to do it. I had a presentation on Saturday & became too late. May be tomorrow. 😊
DeleteI meant Gowri - Sorry for the typo.
