    In top form may be OK with a comma while in the (fooder of) clue.

    1. Its a single context, slang/informal usage. And always in the past tense of the word.
      Rephrasing CV -dictionary is fine but we (setters ) need to be mindful of usage too.

      Endowed(both transitive and intransitive verb in the past tense) =had, gave
      Endow is give.
